Our Founders

Rakel Tanibajeva, Cofounder & Director

Oversees the sustainability aspects of YouBio. Rakel’s extensive expertise and professional experience in the environmental field, as well as her Environmental Studies major from Yale University, enables us to develop innovative solutions for our products that reduce our ecological footprint.

Rakel has been a professional lecturer for several organizations, including the New York Public Library, Portland Public Library, Southern Maine Conservation Collaborative, NY State Environmental Conservation Agency, and Hunters Point Education Centre, discussing the social and environmental health detriments of textile waste. Her Green Urban Development Proposal was featured in the New Haven Independent. Her professional endeavors and achievements have been featured in publications such as Forbes, NY Weekly, NYC.gov, and Yale Daily News.

Julia Light, Cofounder, CFO, & Head of Design

Holding a coveted B.E.C. in Commerce and Economics from TDIU, complemented by a dual attainment of a B.S. in Emerging Media and a B.F.A. in Fine Art from Hunter College, Julia personifies a fusion of business acumen and artistic ingenuity.

Her multifaceted expertise encompasses the finance, marketing, and design industries, with decades of experience.
